Sandra Ilić belongs to the first generation of CompEng-students. She started Computational Engineering master program in year 2000.

As a member of DYNET project she was one of the RUB students being supported by the DAAD within the framework of the stability pact for south east Europe. Sandra Ilić completed her diploma degree at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture at the University Niš in Serbia. Subsequently, she began to study the international master program Computational Engineering at Ruhr University Bochum. In 2002 she graduated as one of the year´s best students. The topic of her master thesis was “Numerical determination of Green´s function induced by a screw dislocation in 2D crystal”. After graduation she got a PhD position at department of Mechanics-Material Theory, Ruhr University Bochum and after finishing her PhD she continued working there as a Postdoc. On 15.01.2014, Sandra Klinge (née Ilić) habilitated at Ruhr University Bochum, department of Mechanics-Material Theory.

Her successful scientific career results from the cooperation of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Serbian partner University Niš and is closely linked to the international DAAD-project DYNET/SEFFORM for PhD students from the south east European region.
