The International Office is responsible for all aspects of the University's international contacts and activities. In addition to advisory and counselling services, it functions as the contact point for all international matters at the University. The International Office advices international incoming students studying at RUB as well as outgoing RUB students who wish to spend time studying abroad or doing an internship abroad. Last, but not least, it has a central function in developing and maintaining international partnerships with international universities and institutes.

Alongside your Studies

The RUBiss team publishes a semester programme every term. It lists the various events, workshops and excursions Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB) has to offer. Tutors and German students are also present at all the events, giving you the opportunity to gain a lot of new contacts.
This is the ideal way to get to know Bochum and Germany in general, and to meet German and foreign students.

Living with a guest family - Experiment e.V.

Experiment e.V. gives international students the possibility to live with a German guest family either during the Christmas holidays, during the Eastern holidays or during the summer holidays. You have to apply 8 weeks in advance. The offered places are limited. The service requires a fee of €40.

International Researchers
The Welcome Centre is the place international academics, researchers, scientists and other university-related professionals and their families can go to seek support and advice regarding their stay at Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB). The Welcome Centre also offers support and advice to hosts from RUB's faculties.
