On Friday, the 3rd December 2021, this year’s official graduation ceremony of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering took place. Graduates from Computational Engineering, Structural Engineering and Infrastructure and Environment celebrated the successful completion of their studies. Furthermore, particularly outstanding degrees and achievements from graduates were awarded.

Live from the Audimax, Ruhr-University’s biggest lecture hall, the moderation team, consisting of Kiara, UI Master's student, and the Vice Dean Prof. Dr.-Ing. Höffer, led through the evening. One of the highlights was the honouring of our graduates Ashwani Kumar and Phillip Schönfelder, who received the Hans-Jürgen Niemann Prize 2021 for their Master's theses. During the ceremony, the graduates and guests could participate in interactive quizzes.A special guest was the robotic dog of the Chair of Computing in Engineering, RUBy. RUBy delivered one of the packages to the moderator duo, which the graduates of the academic years 2019/20 and 2020/21 had previously received by mail. Together with the graduates, the packages were opened in the Audimax and at home, followed by a virtual toast being made to the graduation.

We congratulate all graduates. Thank you for being part of the CompEng family. We wish you all the best for your future career and hope you will keep us and Bochum in good memory!
