Abolition of tuition fees for the winter semester 2011/2012

studiengebhren_1We are glad to announce that, with the winter semester 20011/2012, there will be no tuition fees charged at universities in North Rhine Westphalia anymore. Hence, students who take up their studies at Ruhr-Universität Bochum in October 2011 will just have to pay the social fee (currently about € 232 per semester) and not € 480 tuition fee as in the semesters before. The federal government sees this as a major step to social justice in the educational system. Among many other factors it is also one major argument that speaks in favor of your decision to study Computational Engineering at Ruhr-Universität Bochum.

Notice: This info has not officially been confirmed by the university rector’s office yet. It is merely based on the decision of the federal government according to which tuition fees will be abolished with effect from the next winter semester.
