General Aspects In order to study the international master’s course Computational Engineering at Ruhr-University Bochum, candidates must submit an application via our online application system. This online application system is generally open for applications from November. The closing dates for online applications are: • 15th May for citizens of non-European countries Please note that enrolment for master’s program Computational Engineering is only possible for the upcoming winter term.
Online Application - Short Guide (please read carefully before application)
1. The complete application process is managed through our online application system. The first indispensable step to apply for the master’s program Computational Engineering is to register in our online application system. Once you registered, you will be requested by e-mail to activate your account.
2. Once you registered and activated your account you can login to our online application system. During the online application process, you will be asked to enter the following information: • personal details Furthermore, you have to upload a digital passport photo in JPEG format with a maximum size of 2MB.
3. The last step is to upload the following required application documents to complete your online application: • Curriculum vitae • TOEFL: minimum total score of 550 points for paper-based tests, 215 points for computer-based tests • High School Diploma • Students from China: APS document Please upload scanned copies of all your original documents. If the original documents are not in English or German, you have to add additional certified translations of your documents. A certified translation is a translation by a sworn translator. All documents must be uploaded in one pdf-file in the order described above and with a maximum size of 10 MB. Please note that we do not accept any paper based application documents and that we do not processed applications submitted by e-mail, as well as un-assessable applications.
4. After completing these steps, you can submit your application. You will be automatically informed via e-mail when your application documents have been proceed and forwarded to the admission committee. As soon as the admission committee comes to a final decision on your admission, you will again be immediately notified by e-mail. If you get an acceptance for the master’s course Computational Engineering you will be assigned to one of our personal tutors from the CompEng Support team, who will be your future contact person for any organizational questions (Visa, Accommodation, Health Insurance, etc) to make sure that you will have the best possible starting conditions at Ruhr-University Bochum. Please understand that, in case your application is rejected, no further explanations will be given from the admission committee.
