Regulations for the winter semester 2021/2022

The previously applicable Corona Epidemic University Regulation expired on 01.10.2021. No definite date can be given yet when the new regulation will be adopted.

Registration and cancellation of examinations

Registration for examinations in FlexNow is possible from 15.11.2021 to 15.01.2022.

Deregistration is expected to be possible until up to one day before the exam. In general, each module examination can be deregistered twice in the course of study.

Deviating registration and deregistration deadlines will be announced in the course.

Compulsory registrations for the compulsory courses will automatically be made by the Examination Office. This means that if a compulsory subject has not been passed, cancelled or failed or a medical certificate has been submitted, an automatic registration for the next attempt will take place in the next semester. An automatic registration also takes place if the compulsory modules were not taken independently in the 2nd or 3rd semester.

The first semester students need to register for all exams in FlexNow independently within the registration period.

In the compulsory optional courses part, courses with a max. scope of 40 credit points can be selected. If you want to register for more compulsory optional subjects, please select these subjects as optional courses.

You have the possibility to shift a course from one section to another at any time by writing an informal e-mail to the Examination Office.

NOTE:After each registration or cancellation please check carefully in FlexNow if you are            registered for the exam you want to take or if you have cancelled the exam you do not            want to take. You will always receive a confirmation e-mail to your RUB address; please            do not delete these e-mails.

Please do not forget to register also for seminar papers, project works or homework, if            needed.

To register for optional courses or block courses you cannot find in FlexNow, please            register directly by contacting the lecturer.

A maximum of three examination attempts are permitted.

In order to participate in an examinations on campus, a negative test result (for example of a rapid antigen test from a Corona test centre – "Bürgertest", not older than 24 hours), proof of complete vaccination protection or recovery from a Corona disease is required (= "3G Status"). Individuals are considered to be fully vaccinated 14 days after the last required vaccination; individuals are considered to have recovered if their positive PCR test was at least 28 days and a maximum of 6 months ago. Also recovered individuals with a single Corona vaccination do not have to prove a negative Corona test.

In accordance with the new Corona Epidemic University Ordinance of December 1, 2021 and the decision of the Rectorate of the Ruhr-University Bochum of December 10, 2021, examination attempts that are taken in the winter semester 2021/22 and are not passed will be cancelled. Deregistration from an examination is possible up to one day before the examination date. A non-appearance without deregistration will be counted as a failed attempt (miss). In case of illness, a medical certificate for the examination must be submitted.
